Reliable Home Inspections

A home inspection is a key step in the process of home buying.  Yingst Engineers & Associates will provide you with a thorough, systematic evaluation of the condition of the home you wish to purchase.  With over 25 years of experience and more than 25,000 buildings inspected, our physical examination of the general integrity, functionality and overall safety of a home and its various components will ensure that you know what you are purchasing prior to completing the transaction.

We are unique in the inspection industry.

Yingst Engineers & Associates delivers reliable home inspections under the control of a Professional Engineer who is licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  We follow strict legal and ethical standards and attend continuing education classes to stay up to date with the latest standards and techniques. In addition, our engineers are members of the National Academy of Building Inspection Engineers (NABIE) and the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI).

We provide a detailed non-invasive, visual inspection.

During the course of our inspection, we will evaluate the home’s accessible foundation, framing, roofing, site drainage, attic, plumbing, heating, cooling, electrical system, fireplace, chimney, pavement, decks, patios, doors, windows, walls, ceiling, floors, and numerous other fixtures and components. As Licensed Professional Engineers, we will evaluate the structural integrity of the home’s foundation and framing, which other non-engineer home inspectors are not legally able to do.  Our goal is to provide you, the buyer, with the information necessary to make an educated decision about the home you are considering.

We give you a detailed yet understandable report.

Following the inspection, we will provide a comprehensive report that you can easily interpret.  Our report makes clear distinctions between defective building conditions, maintenance recommendations, and items that may be performed in the future as an upgrade to the current condition. Our reports are custom written – not checklists – that take into consideration your needs as a buyer.  We also offer cost estimates for the items discussed based on industry standards, which provide an important budgeting tool for maintaining the home over the next ten years.
