Stephen M. Yingst, P.E., CBIE
President and Owner
As the President and Owner of Yingst Engineers & Associates, Inc., Steve’s special expertise is in the evaluation and analysis of commercial and residential properties. As a Professional Engineer, he has personally inspected thousands of commercial and residential buildings. His experience ranges from a 750,000-square foot shopping mall, to a 100-unit apartment building, to primary residences and houses at every stage of construction. He provides in-depth consultations with building owners on specific problems, such as basement water infiltration, EIFS (Exterior Insulated Finish System) water infiltration, mold and mildew issues, structural repairs, roof certifications, and design/build assistance. He is distinguished as an expert in the field of investigative engineering and frequently testifies in court as an expert witness.
Steve is a licensed Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of Maryland. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State University (Go Lions!). Steve is a member of the National Academy of Building Inspection Engineers (NABIE), the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers (PSPE), the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), the Pennsylvania Septage Management Association (PSMA), and the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI). Steve’s technical articles have appeared in numerous publications. He has also received the Certified Building Inspection Engineer (CBIE) designation through a program established by NABIE.
Kathy E. Yingst
As Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Yingst Engineers & Associates, Inc., Kathy is responsible for day-to-day management of the company. In this capacity, she oversees the scheduling and secretarial functions, coordinates report review and delivery, and performs the firm’s accounting and bookkeeping functions.
Kathy also coordinates the firm’s marketing efforts and public relations through meetings with potential customers, marketing surveys and mailing of quarterly newsletters.
Kathy received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Lebanon Valley College, Annville, Pennsylvania.
Andrew D. Dionne, R.S.
Andrew has established himself as an expert in the engineering industry, as he brings over 20 years of building inspection experience. Andrew specializes in inspections for both new construction and existing buildings and has performed thousands of commercial and residential building evaluations.
Andrew is an active member of professional organizations including the Community Associations Institute (CAI) and has served on the CAI Central Pennsylvania Regional Council. Andrew also holds the CAI Reserve Specialist designation. As a recognized industry expert, Andrew performs Reserve Fund Studies, Transition Studies and Physical Needs Assessments for community associations and senior living facilities throughout Pennsylvania and nationwide.
Andrew is also the firm’s Environmental Professional and has over 20 years of experience in performing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) for sites ranging from high risk commercial/industrial properties to undeveloped parcels of land.
Andrew holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from Southern Vermont College where he received academic awards as Scholar Athlete of the Year in 1992, 1993 and 1994.
Charlie E. Lartz
Architectural Design Manager
Charlie serves as an Architectural Design Manager for Yingst Engineers & Associates, Inc. and brings with him 16 years of Architectural experience to the team. Charlie began his career in Architecture as a designer/draftsman at LSC Design in York, PA. As an Architectural Designer, Charlie has worked on an extensive variety of projects ranging from small commercial renovations/additions, to single as well as multi-story Medical, Educational, Retail and Corporate newly-designed buildings.
Charlie is proficient using Revit Architecture (BIM) to develop a project from conceptual design through permitting and construction documents, 3D rendering and meeting with clients and consultants to provide functional designs in a timely fashion.
James R. Miller
Jim brings over 25 years of experience as a CAD designer and drafter to the Yingst Engineers & Associates team. He obtained an Associate Degree in Specialized Technology from the Berks Technical Institute where he later became a drafting instructor. His work history includes drafting and design experience in various areas including residential, commercial and industrial construction using AutoCAD and Revit.
Jim’s attention to detail and his commitment to producing a high-quality product by working with our engineers and architects makes him a valuable member of our team.
Karen A. Zipprick
Receptionist/Client Service Representative
In her role as the firm’s Receptionist/Client Service Representative, Karen is the first point of contact for most of our clients. She delivers the personal, immediate attention our clients deserve and can answer any questions you may have about the services that Yingst Engineers & Associates, Inc. can provide. Karen’s friendly demeanor and professional attitude allow her to determine how we can best help you and in the most efficient manner possible. She has over 25 years of experience in the client services field and handles every caller with a high level of professionalism and courtesy.
We also have numerous Subcontract Engineers, Design Specialists and Surveyors that are routinely involved on projects as needed. This allows us to bring the right expertise to a specific project in a cost-efficient manner and bolster our in-house staff as needed.
This expertise includes Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Structural and Storm Water Engineers and Computer Aided Design Professionals. We combine it all through the magic of the Internet and AUTOCAD/Revit. Together our subcontractors make us a better TEAM!
